The second quarter of 2025 marked a season of thoughtful transformation at Sara Foundation Africa. From program restructuring to new partnerships, strategic funding efforts, and expanded community engagement, we’ve taken bold steps to deepen our impact and strengthen the foundation for long-term sustainability.
In this Q2 report, we share key achievements, current initiatives, and what lies ahead.
Restructuring for Greater Impact: The New FLIP Fellowship Model
At the heart of this quarter was the successful restructuring of all FLIP (Female Leadership

Initiative Program) activities. After months of evaluation and consultation with our stakeholders, we transitioned all participants—mentors and mentees—into a newly designed FLIP Fellowship model.
This updated structure provides a more intentional, structured, and scalable approach to supporting women professionals and founders in tech across Africa. It introduces a tiered fellowship system, improved tracking of participant progress, and a stronger focus on leadership development.
CAP Tech Hub: Advancing Learning and Innovation
Our CAP (Career Advancement Program) Tech Hub continued to scale with the launch of

Cohort 2’s Learn and Build Phases. These phases are designed to blend theory with practice, and this quarter featured:
Weekly expert sessions led by seasoned professionals in tech
Real-time mentor check-ins and project-based learning
Volunteer facilitators recruited through an open application process—underscoring our commitment to community-driven education
In addition, the Student Leadership Training for Cohort 2 was delivered successfully, equipping participants with foundational leadership and teamwork skills.
Building Capacity Through Strategic Partnerships
We are proud to have secured two significant partnerships this quarter:

Scintilla: A strategic partner supporting student engagement and creating internship pathways for our CAP participants.
Farmily: A collaboration that provides internship slots for top-performing students, enabling real-world experience in relevant industries.
We also entered early-stage discussions with KàdaràBrite, exploring opportunities to expand support across our programs. Finalization is pending, but we are optimistic about the potential alignment.
Enhancing Visibility and Driving Support
To amplify our reach and create new pathways for community support, we launched several

visibility and engagement initiatives:
1. Funding Drive Launch
We rolled out a coordinated fundraising campaign, including a GoFundMe page, donation pop-ups, and an integrated donation feature on our website. The aim is to mobilize both local and global communities to contribute to our mission. You can support our work here.
2. Podcast Launch and Personal Branding Series
Our new podcast provides a platform for storytelling and knowledge sharing from women in tech across the continent. Additionally, we expanded our personal branding content series, spotlighting the voices and journeys of our mentors, fellows, and CAP alumni.
3. Website Enhancements
We made strategic updates to our website—introducing a donation feature and an impact showcase to highlight success stories and track our measurable contributions.
What’s Ongoing
FLIP Workshop applications are currently open. Women professionals looking to build tech leadership capacity are encouraged to apply here.
The newly launched FLIP Fellowship program is also receiving applications from women in tech across Africa. You can learn more and apply here.
Our team continues to engage volunteers, donors, and partners in support of our mission to build inclusive leadership pathways across Africa.
Looking Ahead
Q2 was a quarter of focused transition and foundational growth. As we look toward the rest of the year, our priorities include scaling the FLIP Fellowship, advancing CAP projects into the Demo Phase, and reinforcing our funding and impact measurement structures.
We remain deeply grateful to every mentor, facilitator, donor, and partner who has walked with us during this time. Together, we are not only closing opportunity gaps—we are building systems that empower African women to lead and innovate on their own terms.
